Henley pubs tune into Jazz & Blues Festival

Pubs in and around Henley are set to showcase a myriad of musical talent over the next 10 days as the annual Brakspear Jazz & Blues Festival comes to town. The Festival opens on Friday 11th November, with a total of 16 performances taking place before it ends on Sunday 20th.
This is the fourth year for the festival and once again, it will be staging a diverse range of musical acts, with a number of local artistes on the bill. Classic jazz, R&B, swing, Latin and other styles are all performed by soloists, duos and bands, both established performers and newcomers. Most performances are free of charge, and pubs will be offering food during the gigs for customers who want to dine while they listen, such as the Jazz Dinner available at the Five Horseshoes in Maidensgrove when it hosts Rebecca Poole on 18 November.
Music lovers will also be able to enjoy a pint or two of Brakspear’s ‘Top Notch’, specially brewed for the Jazz & Blues Festival. The 3.9% ABV ale with chocolate and toffee notes is perfect for supping while listening to music, and has become one of Brakspear’s top-selling seasonal ales. Top Notch is available throughout November in all pubs hosting the festival, and selected others.
Brakspear chief executive Tom Davies said, “Many of the most successful singers and bands started out gigging in pubs, and we’re delighted to be continuing the long tradition of staging live music and giving local artistes a chance to perform.
“With the nights drawing in and temperatures falling, what better way to spend an evening than listening to some great music, enjoying a pint of ale and a bite to eat, and maybe even getting on the dance floor at the end of the night? We are expecting our Jazz & Blues Festival to be another big hit and look forward to welcoming music lovers into our pubs.”
