If you’ve not done the Henley Ale Trail, you’ve not lived!
We challenge you to visit our ten pubs in Henley on Thames, enjoy a pint of Brakspear Gravity or Oxford Gold and get your map stamped.
You’ll be rewarded with your FREE rather-fetching T-shirt that brandishes the year you completed it. You’ll also be invited to our exclusive Ale Trailers party as well.
Yes that is Ed Sheeran. He did the Henley Ale Trail back in 2019 and yes we still gave him the free t-shirt for completing it. This is him outside the Saracen’s Head halfway round.
What could be better than a walk in the countryside to get the blood pumping followed by a well-earned drink and a bite to eat in a fine public house? Well how about a choice of walks so you decided how far you walk!
Download our free app and don’t forget to book a table if you want to dine afterwards to avoid disappointment.
For those who don’t have a Smartphone, we do have leaflets for some pubs which you can print out or call in at these pubs to pick up a copy (whilst stocks last).
If you love Midsomer Murders and have a bike then this is for you!
Visit all nine pubs and you’ll be rewarded not only with spectacular scenery en route, but also with a metal Brakspear water bottle at the end. Perfect for hot or cold drinks when you’re
out on your bike.
Thanks goes to the two wheeled experts at Henley Cycles who cycled and mapped out the route for this 113km (70 miles) challenge, which if you take on the whole route, would involve around 8 hours of cycling.
There’s no time limit on this so you don’t need to be Mark Cavendish! Download the free Brakspear app and click on ale trails to get started.
Should you wish to arrive on horseback, the following pubs welcome horses and can be tethered outside.
Here’s our best horse / pub joke: A horse walks into a bar. The bartender asks, “Why the long face?” The horse replies, “Because you tell that same joke every time I come here.”
We’re always getting asked which of our pubs are dog-friendly (by the owners, not the dogs themselves of course!).
Well-behaved dogs (and owners!) are welcome in the pubs shown by clicking on the button below.
This adorable canine is pub dog Winnie at the Cherry Tree in Stoke Row, just outside Henley on Thames.
