At Brakspear, being family-run means everything we do is driven by family values. Our close-knit team works collaboratively with our business owners to ensure every pub can thrive. We care about people and potential, not just properties and numbers, which is how we make everyone feel part of the family. Pubs are our passion, and we take pride in creating places that exceed expectations. We see our relationship with business owners as a true partnership which are open, honest and built on family values.

As a family-run business with over 200 years of experience, we have around 120 pubs, including 12 Honeycomb Houses (managed). Our friendly team enjoys working with Business Owners to create outstanding pubs that sit at the heart of their communities.

Our pubs are mainly located across Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, the Cotswolds, London and Brighton. From community locals to food-led pubs and historic village inns, each one is unique. We focus on creating the right offer for every pub rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.

Simon Bailey

The Retreat and The Flowerpot

Simon Bailey is an experienced business owner who has been part of the Brakspear family since 2012. He runs two successful Brakspear pubs- The Flower Pot in Sunbury-on-Thames and The Retreat in Staines.

Over the years, Simon has built strong community pubs and gained valuable insight into what it takes to run a thriving business. From creating a welcoming atmosphere to building a loyal customer base, his experience highlights the rewards of running your own pub.
