Nicky Chubb, one of the artists featured at the William Bray
The William Bray in Shere has installed an ‘Artist’s Corner’, where it displays a painting from a different local artists, which changes every six weeks. The large artworks, provided by local gallery Art Agency, are hung on a prominent wall in the main bar, with a card underneath giving details about the artist’s background and influences.
Tenant Piers Gardener said, “Artist’s Corner is a showcase for local artists, and introduces our customers to art they probably wouldn’t see otherwise. I love doing something that’s so different to the traditional art found in most country pubs, and it’s fun to watch people’s reactions when they come in – some love it, others don’t, but it always sparks debate.”
