The Five Horseshoes in Maidensgrove, Henley raised £2217 at their Quiz Night in April in support of Brakspear’s year-long partnership with Sue Ryder. The Quiz was hosted by none other than the Quiz master himself, Mr Jeremy Paxman.
Tracey and Dan Taverner, licensees at the Brakspear pub, said, “We are delighted at the success of our Quiz Night. Our customers really enjoyed it and to raise this amount of money for Sue Ryder is fantastic. Jeremy really made the evening and we are so thankful to him for giving his time to support such an important cause.
“The Sue Ryder Nettlebed Hospice provides a vital service here in the local area and we are so proud of what we have achieved. We could not have done it without all our generous suppliers who donated food and wine for the evening, all our incredible waitresses who volunteered on the night and all proceeds from the evening went to this worthwhile cause.”
Tracey Hancock, Head of Fundraising at Sue Ryder Duchess of Kent and Nettlebed Hospices, said: “The money Five Horseshoes raised at their Quiz Night will enable us to continue to provide incredible care for our patients. We are very grateful to Tracey & Dan, their suppliers, the waitresses who donated their time and those who attended on the evening and of course the incredible Jeremy Paxman for supporting this fantastic evening.”
