Showcasing talent at Queen’s Oak
June 10, 2016
Singers, musicians and magicians strutted their stuff at The Queens Oak in Finchampstead in the recent ‘Berkshire’s Got Talent’ competition. Between four and eight acts performed every Saturday night, with one going through to the finals, where the top prize of a trophy and paid gig at the pub went to local ukulele player Matthew Quillaim.
Tenant Mark Kerry said, “Everyone enjoyed the entertainment and it drew people into the pub on a Saturday, which is a quiet night for us. Just as importantly, by putting collecting tins on the bar and holding an auction on the finals night, we raised £1,116 for Alzheimer’s Society and the Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice.”
