Pubs raise funds for Marie Curie

Our fundraising for Marie Curie has now passed £20,000.  Well done and thanks to all the pubs who have helped to reach this impressive sum.

  1. Chequers, Berrick Salome £3223
  2. Potters Arms £1585
  3. Saracens Head £1070
  4. Coachmakers Arms £1000
  5. Horseshoe  £323

The Chequers at Berrick Salome raised an amazing £3,098 at their Garden Party (BELOW), including  live music, hog roast, horse rides, a bouncy castle and children’s entertainer.

The Saracen’s Head raised £800 through a Golf Day at Henley Golf Club for 19 of the pub’s regulars.  Money was raised through an entry charge and penalties imposed by licensee – and master of fines – Colin Roberson. Thanks to regular ‘Chelsea Steve’ for providing the drinks for the game – including  Mojitos on the 16th hole!

John Riddell, licensee at the Fat Fox, has raised £250+ through the pub’s regular quiz, raffles, Blues Night and daffodil pin badges at the till.

The Leathern Bottle has raised £288 from a regular ‘porch sale’, where customers buy and sell toys, games and other items. Licensees Julie & Gordon are now running it every couple of months in response to popular demand.  Held in the pub’s porch, customers buy and sell toys, games and other items. In addition, their daughter Issy raised £825 by running the Henley Half Marathon, making her one of the top fundraisers at the event.
