Description

A beautiful, unpretentious country pub, the Crooked Billet is famous for its cooking, inglenooks, crackling log fires, flagstone floors and relaxed friendly atmosphere. You will find it hidden at the bottom of Newlands Lane, which runs down the side of Stoke Row green. Open for lunch and dinner seven days a week, cooking all day Saturday & Sunday – bear them in mind for an early Saturday supper in the country garden or a late al fresco Sunday lunch. A special 2 course £16.95 daily changing luncheon Monday – Friday is offered. Half a dozen starters, mains & puds, fantastic seasonal British food, always including seafood, vegetarian, red meat & poultry dishes. Delicious homemade desserts. The full à la carte menu is always available. The Sunday Times recently listed the Crooked Billet as one of Britain’s Best Places to Eat, it’s also Waitrose’s Favourite Foodie Pub. “The greatest regret is wasting 47 years before discovering the Crooked Billet” Matthew Norman, food critic, the Daily Telegraph.
