Customers in seven pubs in and around Henley could bag themselves a £100 bar tab in the Brakspear Poker Tournament – and the chance of a trip to Las Vegas, being offered to the winner of the Grand Final next year.

The tournament is taking place in 10 Brakspear pubs in total. Customers play for points, not money, with around 10 other players at the poker table in the pub.  Participating pubs are holding their Poker Nights once a week, between now and the end of January.

Scores are recorded at the end of each Poker Night and after 12 sessions, the player with the most points in each pub receives £100 to spend on drinks, and food if served, as well as a trophy. The top three players from each pub, plus a play off qualifier for fourth place, will be invited to a Grand Final at the Grosvenor Casino in February next year. The winner of this will be flown out to Las Vegas next May for the Redtooth Vegas 100 tour.

Brakspear chief executive Tom Davies said, “Poker has become a popular entertainment in pubs, giving customers a different experience when they visit their local. It’s a fun, sociable evening and free for the players, with the added attraction of a trip to Las Vegas for the final winner.

“We’re expecting it to be a great success and wish all our customers good luck.”

The local pubs taking part are: Angel on the Bridge and Saracens Head in Henley; Unicorn at Kingham; Flower Pot at Aston; Dog & Duck and Red Lion in Wokingham; Clifton Arms at Caversham.  For more information on their Poker Nights, contact your local pub – details available on www.brakspear.co.uk
