Marie Curie fundraising heroes

Here’s how some pubs have been raising money for Marie Curie
Teeing off
The first Brakspear Golf Day, held at Henley Golf Club in April, was a great success, raising £391 for Marie Curie through a ‘closest to the pin’ competition. Nineteen teams of licensees and pub customers played 18 holes at the historic club, enjoying the course, the company and the sustaining pint of Brakspear and sausage roll at the half way hut.
An egg-cellent fundraiser
The Saracens Head raised £240 for Marie Curie with its annual Easter Egg raffle. Licensee Melanie Roberson bought eight large eggs and sold raffle tickets, announcing the winners in the pub on Easter Sunday.
Pub quizzes at Catherine Wheel
Proving that you don’t have to put on a special event to raise money, the Catherine Wheel has raised £200 through its existing monthly pub quizzes.
