Landlord celebrates 30 years with Brakspear

Jeremy Buckler Weighs Anchor at Henley Pub

Jeremy Buckler, loyal landlord of three Henley Brakspear pubs, has been pulling thousands of pints for over three decades.

Jeremy started with Brakspear lifting the hatch of the bar at the Rose & Crown in New Street back in June 1986, before moving on to iconic riverside pub The Angel on the Bridge from 1991 to 2006, and after a break, to The Anchor in Friday Street in 2013.

To commemorate his achievement Jeremy was awarded a special handpull celebrating his landmark time with Brakspear. Jeremy said, “I have really enjoyed my life in Henley with great customers. The job is only as good as the people you serve and the people of Henley and the customers in all my pubs have made it a very special time indeed. I have loved working with Brakspear.”

After thirty years though, Jeremy will be leaving Brakspear and soon be setting sail from The Anchor. Brakspear are delighted that Jeremy will continue to run The Anchor until new operators are found.

Tom Davies, Brakspear CEO, “Jeremy clearly loves running pubs and clocking up 30 years across various Brakspear pubs is a truly amazing achievement. We wish him all the best for the future.”

This means that there is an excellent opportunity up for grabs to run this very special pub in the heart of Henley-on-Thames.

The Anchor is a hugely popular traditional pub, full of character, history, and atmosphere with bags of potential. The pub currently appeals to locals and the huge numbers of visitors to Henley across the summer months, including many visiting rowing crews. It already has a good food reputation so there is plenty of scope to build on that.

Brakspear look forward to working with new tenants to continue to create amazing pubs, with The Anchor being one of them.
