Henley Herald review of Chef Shop at the Bull
October 31, 2014

Local website the Henley Herald popped into the Bull on Bell Street to sample its new Chef Shop menu. We’re delighted to say that they enjoyed their food, as reported below:
“An amazing, mouth-watering selection of cured meets, speciality cheeses, savoury dishes and tempting breads greeted us at the new Chef Shop at the Bull on Bell Street last week. Chef Shop was the brainchild of the new Executive Chef, Antony Ely who gave us a warm welcome and told us all about the great range of dishes on offer.
“It was really hard to choose which was our favourite from the delicious dishes we tried. We started with the unusual but delicious Beetroot Humous which came with the lightest of toast, Chorizo, New Potato and Red onion Frittata (like a Spanish omelette), scrumptious Sharpham Elmhurst cheese and caramelised onions tarts, and Focaccia bread which was perfectly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. We were then served some wonderful Serrano ham with fried almonds, a plate of Marengo cheese with a great accompaniment of quince jelly and a platter of really tasty meats including some melt in the mouth chorizo. All the dishes were also beautifully presented and Antony sources as much as the produce locally and plans to use seasonal products and changing menus frequently to keep it interesting.
The Chef Shop will be available for both lunch and dinner and gives diners the choice of foods to fill a small, medium or large plate. Antony or one of his team of chefs will be on hand to help you with your selection. You can have a selection for a starter, a main course or as a platter to share with friends.”
