From seaside to South London

Business owners James Potter & Mason Young took on this lovely local pub in Southwark last autumn after four great years at The Quayside in Whitstable.

The couple, who were married in November in New Zealand, have quickly put their stamp on the pub, delivering a quality, relaxed drinking and dining experience for the local community and visitors from further afield.

The food offer includes a range of tapas dishes, quality pub classics and seasonal specials, plus hearty Sunday roasts. Every Monday and Tuesday evening the Little Pasta Company pop-up offers delicious Italian dishes. Drinks include real ales, craft beers and a wide selection of gins and other sprits, enjoyed next to a cosy open fire in the winter, or on the pavement outside in winter – the pub is situated in a cul-de-sac, creating privacy for drinkers.

James & Mason are also raising the game when it comes to entertainment, with a regular pub quiz every Monday and performances by popular drag queen Drag with No Name,

We’re delighted to see James & Mason moving onto another Brakspear pub and we’re confident they’ll repeat their magic at The Albert!

Meanwhile, at The Quayside, Fiona Hatton has taken the reins as business owner, after helping Mason & James as the pub’s general manager for several years.
