Familiar face takes charge at The Clifton Arms

Louisa & James Johnston took on The Clifton Arms in Caversham this summer, becoming the first new business owners here for 30 years!  They follow in the long-serving footsteps of previous business owner Seona Mackenzie, who retired after three decades behind the bar.

Although new to the business owner role, Louisa isn’t new to the pub, as she worked here for Seona for a number of years. When Seona decided to retire, Louisa and James decided to take the plunge and become the pub’s business owners – and clearly, were strong candidates, with the support of the pub’s regulars and the local community.

The Clifton Arms is a traditional community pub in the heart of Caversham, offering a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. It has a long-established reputation for serving quality ales, earning it the support of the local CAMRA branch.
