Golfers in and around Henley are invited to join the Brakspear Golf Day, which returns for a fourth year on Friday, 15 May, and for the first time it’s being held at Badgemore Park Golf Club in Henley on Thames.

The tournament is open to teams of four players, from any Brakspear pub. Only a limited number of teams can take part, so interested players should book their place soon to avoid disappointment. To take part, simply round up your team of four and sign up in any Brakspear pub. To see a list of pubs near you, visit www.brakspear.co.uk

Entry to the Brakspear Golf Day costs £180 per team (£45 per person) and includes 18 holes of golf at Badgemore Park Golf Club, which is widely regarded as one of the finest courses in the region. Players will also enjoy a bacon roll on arrival, a thirst-quenching Brakspear ale and sausage roll at the halfway hut and, back at the Club House, lunch and more beer before the prize presentations. All players will also receive a goody bag too.

The winning team will receive a trophy to display in their pub, while all members of the first three placed teams will also win prizes. There are also prizes for closest the pin and longest drive as well as a special prize for anyone who manages a hole in one.

Last year’s winning team was the Wellington Arms in Sandhurst, narrowly beating the Duke of Wellington in Twyford. The Angel on the Bridge in Henley came third.
Tom Davies, Brakspear chief executive, said, “It was a pleasure to bring the Brakspear Golf Day back for a third year and bring together landlords and customers to enjoy great golf, beer and food and the company of fellow golfers.

“It was good to see customers playing for the Brakspear Golf Shield, and I know it will be occupying pride of place in the Wellington Arms for the next year. This affection from regulars for their local is what makes our pubs so special and the Golf Day is a great way to reward those customers, and our landlords.”
Stableford rules apply and the best two scores from each hole will be taken.

To take part in the Brakspear Golf Day, call into any Brakspear pub and ask to speak to the landlord about completing the registration form. For a list of pubs, visit: www.brakspear.co.uk
