Charity dinner and auction at Horns

The Horns in Wargrave has raised an impressive £4,262 for charity. A select group of 26 guests enjoyed a four-course dinner with wines, followed by a silent auction – which had been sent out to a wider audience a week earlier to bring in bids.  The tempting lots, including tickets to Wimbledon and Arsenal FC and a tour of local breweries including Bell Street Brewery, attracted some high bids. The money is being split between Lord Taverners, the youth cricket and disability sports charity and the EY Foundation, which aims to help disadvantaged young people into work or higher education.

Licensee Sandra Purdy said, “We’re grateful to customers and local companies who donated the amazing prizes, and to everyone who placed a bid or came to the dinner.  We’re delighted to be helping these charities.”
