CAMRA Silver for Oxford Gold

Brakspear Oxford Gold was recently awarded a Silver medal in this year’s CAMRA Champion Beer of Britain competition for the London & south east region. The popular brand scooped the prize in the Golden Ales category.

Brakspear chief executive Tom Davies said, “We are always delighted when our beers receive external recognition and this latest award from CAMRA is very welcome.

“Oxford Gold is an excellent beer which has established a loyal following among many drinkers. We’re sure that this endorsement of its taste and quality will only serve to boost demand in our pubs, particularly over the summer months when golden ales really come into their own.”

Brakspear second brewer Jon Tillson said, “Myself and the Wychwood brewing team are very proud of all our beers, including the Brakspear range.  To receive this award from CAMRA for Oxford Gold is recognition of the hard work and dedication shown, not only by the brewing team in Witney, but also the wider production and distribution operations required to ensure our beer reaches the consumer in tip top condition.”

This is the second prestigious award for Brakspear Oxford Gold in six months: last autumn, it was named Best Ale in the Quality Drink Awards 2013 -the only ale to win a top prize in the competition, which judges hundreds of drinks across 21 categories.
