Business owners take on second Brakspear pub

This beautiful pub in the village of Chiddingfold on the edge of the South Downs was bought by Brakspear last year. It is now in the capable hands of business owners Thanasis Louridas and Nicholas van Breda, who are also in charge at The Rose & Crown in Upper Farringdon. At The Swan, they are joined by Didi Ivan, who was for many years head chef at The Percy Arms in nearby Chilworth.

The pub is the perfect spot for a leisurely drink, perhaps in its back garden, set on three levels. The food menu focuses on seasonal and locally sourced ingredients, with a range of delicious dishes and a stunning Sunday roast.  And for guests who just can’t leave after their meal, there are 12 en-suite rooms for overnight stays or longer.
