Brakspear throws party for loyal drinkers
February 3, 2015

Loyal Brakspear drinkers were rewarded recently when the brewer and pub operator threw a party for those who completed one of its Ale Trails in and around Henley during 2014.
Eighty ‘trailers’ and several Brakspear licensees joined the celebrations, held at the Station House on Market Place, where they were treated to complimentary pints of ‘Bobby Dazzler’ – the pub’s house ale; Brakspear Bitter and Brakspear Old, which was brewed at the original Henley brewery and has just been restored at the Bell Street microbrewery. Food from the Station House’s ‘rustic comfort food’ menu was also offered.
The party was also the launch for the 2015 Brakspear Ale Trails: the Henley Ale Trail, covering 10 town centre pubs – now including the Station House – and three Country Ale Trails which each cover around 10 pubs in outlying villages and are ideal for walkers, cyclists and riders.
This was the second party for Brakspear Ale Trailers and the event is now an annual fixture. Brakspear marketing manager Emma Sweet said, “Completing one of our Ale Trails is hugely enjoyable, but requires a certain amount of dedication. It seems only right that we should thank our loyal drinkers – and what better reward than a party serving the beers they so clearly enjoy.”
Many guests recounted their Ale Trail 2014 memories at the party. Several who had completed a Country Ale Trail had found at least one previously ‘undiscovered’ Brakspear pub which was now among their favourite places to drink. One group of friends is planning to complete the Henley town and all three Country Ale Trails over this summer, which will mean they enjoy a pint of Brakspear in around 40 pubs.
