Brakspear Jazz & Blues Festival back for third year

Swing from Paris

Pub operator and brewer Brakspear is once again staging its annual Jazz & Blues Festival, back for its third year from 13th – 22nd November.

Several Brakspear pubs in and around Henley have already signed up to host at least one performance during the Festival, with the line up so far showcasing a wide range of music from jazz classics to Irish folk, performed by established artistes as well as new voices. From its beginnings in Henley in 2013, the Jazz & Blues Festival now reaches more widely across the Brakspear estate, with pubs in East Sussex and the Cotswolds taking part this year.

Many events are free of charge, while other pubs are offering exclusive set menus or specials for dinner alongside the music.  Details of all Jazz & Blues Festival events are listed on the dedicated website www.brakspearjazzandblues.co.uk.

Music lovers will also be able to enjoy a special Festival beer while they listen, as all pubs taking part in the event will be selling Brakspear ‘Top Notch’, throughout November. The 3.9% ABV ale with chocolate and toffee notes has proved a winner with jazz and blues fans, who drank 80 barrels of it last year, making it one of Brakspear’s top-selling seasonal ales.

Brakspear chief executive Tom Davies said, “Live music and pubs are perfect partners and we’re delighted to be staging the Brakspear Jazz & Blues Festival for a third year.  The gigs provide great entertainment for our customers, while for our licensees they are a way of encouraging people to visit the pub during November, which can be a challenging trading period.”
