Brakspear Golf Day back for third year on 26 April

Golfers in and around Henley are invited to join the Brakspear Golf Day, which returns for a third year on Friday, 26 April at Henley Golf Club in Harpsden.

The tournament is open to teams of four players, from any Brakspear pub. Only a limited number of teams can take part, so interested players should book their place soon to avoid disappointment. To take part, simply round up your team of four and sign up in any Brakspear pub. To see a list of pubs near you, visit

Entry to the Brakspear Golf Day costs £180 per team (£45 per person) and includes 18 holes of golf at Henley Golf Club, which is widely regarded as one of the finest courses in the region. Players will also enjoy a bacon roll on arrival, a sustaining pint of Brakspear and sausage roll at the halfway hut and, back at the Club House, lunch and more beer before the prize presentations. All players will also receive a selection of golf goodies.

The winning team will receive a trophy to display in their pub, while all members of the first four placed teams will also win prizes. There is also a special prize for anyone who manages a hole in one.

Last year’s winning team was the Saracen’s Head in Henley, while the Little Angel in Remenham and the Reformation at Gallowstree Common were also placed in the Top 5. Landlord at the Saracen’s Head, Colin Roberson, said, “It was a tremendous day – obviously winning made it extra special for us but it wasn’t all about the competition, more a chance for us to treat a few of our regulars and enjoy the day with other Brakspear landlords and customers.”

Tom Davies, Brakspear chief executive, said, “The Golf Day was a great success last year and in 2017 and we’re delighted to be bringing it back for a third year.

“The event brings together people with a shared love of Brakspear pubs, beer and golf and is a really enjoyable day.  It’s also a wonderful opportunity to play at the historic Henley Golf Course; the entry cost to our tournament is less than the standard green fee and also includes lunch, other refreshments and prizes.”

To take part in the Brakspear Golf Day, call into any Brakspear pub and ask to speak to the landlord about completing the registration form.   For a list of pubs, visit:
