Brakspear Beer Begins New Chapter with Hogs Back Brewery Partnership

We’re delighted to announce an exciting new chapter for Brakspear Beer, as we begin a new brewing partnership with Hogs Back Brewery in Surrey.

It’s a partnership that brings together two teams with a shared passion for great British beer- and, importantly for us, sees the return of the iconic double drop brewing method that has played such a distinctive part in the Brakspear story.

Under the new partnership, brewing of Brakspear beer is moving to Hogs Back Brewery, where our beers will once again be produced using this traditional method.

For us, this is about much more than moving where our beer is brewed. It’s an opportunity to celebrate our brewing heritage, revive an important Brakspear tradition and begin an exciting new era for our beers.

The return of double drop brewing

Double drop brewing has a special place in Brakspear’s history.

The traditional process involves transferring- or “dropping”- the beer from one fermentation vessel to another during fermentation. It’s a method closely associated with Brakspear and one that has helped give our beers their distinctive character over the years.

We’re therefore particularly pleased to see double dropping return as part of our partnership with Hogs Back Brewery.

It brings an important piece of Brakspear brewing heritage back into the heart of what we do, while allowing us to look confidently towards the future.

Familiar favourite, exciting new arrival

As part of this new chapter, Brakspear Original Gravity Session Bitter is back with a refreshed taste, once again brewed using the double drop method.

Alongside it, we’re delighted to introduce Brakspear Noble Nectar, our new English Pale Ale. Together, they bring tradition and new to the Brakspear range- celebrating our brewing heritage while giving beer lovers something new to discover.

Raising a glass to the next chapter

Brakspear has a long and proud association with great beer, pubs and the communities they serve. That heritage matters to us, and we’re excited to build on it through our new partnership with Hogs Back Brewery.
