Banish the November blues – with some Jazz & Blues!

November is nobody’s favourite month – dark nights, grey days and still weeks til the start of any festive celebrations. So why not treat yourself to an evening of affordable fun in one of the local Brakspear pubs involved in the Jazz & Blues Festival between 9-18 November? Tap your toe along to a mellow melody or get on your feet for up tempo tunes, all to be enjoyed with a delicious Brakspear beer, of course.

Eleven Brakspear pubs are staging performances during the Festival, which is once again showcasing every type of jazz and blues showcasing every type of jazz and blues, played by a raft of talented soloists and bands, many of them local. Most gigs are free to enter, though some pubs are hosting special ‘meal and music’ dinners at a fixed price. All performances are listed on

A new, special edition beer, ‘Sax on Fire’ joins the line up on the bar in several pubs. Brewed at the Bell Street Brewery to celebrate the Jazz & Blues Festival, it’s a smooth, 3.9% ABV amber ale with a clean hoppy finish –  the perfect accompaniment to any jazz performance.
